TESTIMONIALS

‘I'm so thrilled to have booked Lesley for an online school visit.  She was absolutely wonderful with our Year 5/6 classes, fielding questions and imparting writing wisdom in a warm and friendly way.  As a teacher herself, she held the room captivated the whole time, and was personal and encouraging in her responses to a range of learning needs.  Lesley spoke about her own and other authors' books with such a passion, the children couldn't wait to read further after the event.  If you want to encourage reading and writing in your school, Lesley is the author to book!  We could have chatted all day, and were inundated with messages of praise and thanks from parents after the event.  Already looking forward to our next meet when book 2 is released!’

Beth Weekes

Y5/6 Teacher

Llwynypia Primary School

'We loved having Lesley join us for an author event to talk about The Valley of Lost Secrets.  It was engaging, informative and so inspiring! It was fascinating to find out where her ideas came from, and the children were made to feel very special when they met Lesley afterwards for book signing. The very next day, KS2 children were writing their own stories outside at break!  We feel honoured to have hosted Lesley's first in-person school visit and cannot wait to welcome her back soon.'

Tracy Othen

School Business Manager

Coleham Primary School

‘In all my years of teaching, Lesley's author visit was by far the best I've experienced. Engaging and informative, she made an immediate connection with the group and pitched things perfectly. The children were totally caught up in her delivery from the start, and the positive impact she made on them, as both writers and readers, will be long lasting. We can't wait for a return visit!'

Hazel Dennes

Year 6 Teacher

The Croft School

‘Lesley hosted a lively and interesting talk for our Year 7 pupils who were reading The Valley of Lost Secrets over lockdown. They loved hearing about the ideas behind the novel and were delighted to have Lesley answer their questions directly.  Pupils are already looking forward to Lesley’s next novel and a repeat visit.’

Katrina Burton

‘Lesley’s warm personality and witty sense of humour captivated all the children's attention - a must-have for all schools!’

Mr Rickels

Y6 Teacher

Tupton Primary and Nursery Academy

‘Wow! What a read! As a group of Y3 teachers, we were looking for a book that transported our children to a place of intrigue, reflection and honesty. This was the perfect book! We thank Lesley for engaging with us on two occasions - talking to the author of the book they held in their hands was a special moment for all the children.’
